If you work with a laptop and an external monitor, screen size in inches is not enough to choose a coworking desk. You need to know how much space the whole setup takes and which desk will be available on your dates. Flama Hub has six 140 × 80 cm desks and two 180 × 60 cm desks; those sizes do not indicate current availability.
Measure your equipment as you actually use it
At home, arrange your monitor, laptop, keyboard and mouse as you would use them during a working day. Measure the overall width and depth, including the monitor stand, connectors and room for cables. The screen may extend beyond its stand: check that width too, and leave room to move your mouse.
Bring those measurements to your visit, along with a photo of the setup with no private information on screen. If you use a clamp-mounted monitor arm, first ask about the desktop edge and thickness, and permission to fit it. Do not assume that you can clamp equipment to or drill into any desk.
140 × 80 or 180 × 60 cm: width and depth both matter
Taking the dimensions as width × depth, the 180 × 60 cm desk is 40 cm wider than the 140 × 80 cm desk, but 20 cm shallower. It may offer more room for items side by side and less room to space them out from front to back. Your choice depends on the actual arrangement of your equipment.
A hypothetical example: a monitor stand 24 cm deep, a keyboard 18 cm deep and a 10 cm gap take up 52 cm when arranged one behind the other. That leaves 8 cm on a 60 cm deep desktop and 28 cm on an 80 cm deep one. This checks the space required, not your posture; cables, the desk edge and how you work with that setup still need consideration.
Confirm your desk and what you can leave there
A fixed plan at Flama Hub includes a dedicated desk. Monthly flex provides 2–3 days a week without an assigned desk, subject to availability. Before moving a bulky setup, confirm the specific desk or the dimensions available with your plan.
- Can I bring this monitor and stand or mount to the available desk?
- Where are the power sockets, and which cables or adapters should I bring?
- Can I leave my equipment between visits? What are the safekeeping and liability arrangements?
- How do we arrange access to bring it in and collect it?
A dedicated desk does not, by itself, confirm equipment storage or insurance arrangements. Nor should you assume that loan monitors are available. Agree these details before transporting your own.
Arrange a visit with your measurements ready
You will find us at Calle Doctor Sanchis Bergón, 5, in the Botànic area, near El Carmen. Public opening hours are Monday to Friday, 08:30–19:00. We are closed to the public on public holidays; any exceptional access is agreed personally with each coworker in advance.
When asking about availability, tell us your start date, preferred plan, the width and depth of your setup and whether you need to leave it between visits. We can check the fit together before you arrange transport. A visit and desk availability are confirmed separately; this article does not reserve a place.
